Angel's Share

The term Angel's Share refers to the portion of an alcoholic beverage, particularly whiskey, cognac, or wine, that is lost to evaporation during the aging process in barrels. This evaporation occurs naturally as the beverage matures in wooden casks.

Angel's Share is a poetic term for an inevitable and essential process that plays a key role in creating high-quality spirits. The term originates from the idea that the evaporated liquid rises to the heavens and is "taken" by angels.

Typically, around 2–5% per year, depending on climate, humidity, and storage conditions, are lost.
The Angel's Share contributes to the concentration of flavors, as the remaining liquid becomes more intense. For producers, the loss due to evaporation is a significant cost factor, as less product remains, especially for spirits aged for a long time.

In Angel's Share – the game - you are a shrewd investor looking to make the most money in the rapidly growing whiskey industry.
You will be purchasing barrels from renowned distilleries in hopes of turning a large profit. However, as time goes on a bit of each barrel evaporates - the Angel’s Share - which can leave you with a prestigious whiskey, or a low volume of a broken down spirit.

You have to manage your limited actions, aging barrels, and tight budget to make the most money chasing the perfect whiskey.

Skara Brae

Around five thousand years ago, a resilient group of farmers and hunters built a thriving community on the Orkney Islands of Northern Scotland. Rather than discarding their empty shells, broken tools, bones, and other waste, they used them to form large mounds of earth over hundreds of years. Later generations dug into these midden piles to create a series of rooms and tunnels to shelter from the harsh winds and cold winter months.

The aim of Skara Brae is to gather various resources in order to feed, clothe, and shelter the growing number of settlers. Players take turns drafting cards and using their workers to furnish, cook, craft, clean, and trade. At the end of each round, players need to provide for their settlers and will likely create more midden that needs to be cleaned up. After four rounds, the player with the most points wins.

Clans and Glory

In Clans and Glory, you take part in an ancient ritual: the free people of the Scottish Highlands have come from near and far to the meeting place to join a clan chief. Can you win the most followers?

To set up, lay out 4-6 landscape boards depending on the player count and place random cards from the deck in certain locations. Each card is one of seven colors and is valued 3-8. On a turn, a player places a card from their hand in an empty space next to or across from a card of the same color or value, then optionally places one of their five clan tokens on the same location board where they placed a card.

Once all players have placed 7-8 cards, the game ends, then you resolve clan ownership of each location board. For each board, flip the tokens on this board upside down so that the first played token is on top. The owner of this token claims all of the lowest-valued cards on this board, then the owner of the next token in the stack claims all of the (next) lowest-valued cards on this board, etc. Each player then sums the cards they have claimed. Whoever has the highest sum wins.

Haggis

Haggis is a climbing game in the same family as Zheng Fen and Big Two. It borrows and recombines elements from its parent games - card combinations, bombs, scoring for cards in hand, scoring for cards collected in tricks - and it mixes in equally distributed wild cards and betting that you'll be the first to empty your hand of cards.
